South Australia – Things I’d Like To Do There!

Here is a gratuitous attempt to score another trip somewhere that’s away from where I live!

Europcar Australia were silly enough to ask me to see if I was interested in entering the Detour competition to try and score a trip to SA (not South Africa – South Australia!).

I haven’t seen much of this Australian state, so I decided to give it a whirl.

 

This means that I have to write something about what my ideal South Australian trip is – so here I go!

I’ve decided to write this in poem form, and all images are kindly used with permission from South Australian Tourism.

My Ideal South Australian Junket!

I was watching my email Inbox one day,

When I read a message about scoring a trip to South Australia way

With 3 days luxury car hire in a Europcar Merc,

To enjoy Cooper’s Beer, Barossa Wine, and Great White Sharks as some of my perks!

I wondered how I could win this trip

Via a witty blog post, or even a funny video clip

Then I thought about writing this silly South Australian poem

In the hope that Europcar Australia would help me leave home.

 So if Europcar Australia flew me to Adelaide,

I’d probably devour ten giant rock lobsters in an eating crusade.

I’d wash them down with a few Barossa wines,

And spend the afternoon lazing away on Cloud Nine!

 I’d then drive outback to the Flinders Ranges,

To watch the red and brown colours at sunset with strangers

I’d sift for some opals at Coober Pedy

And with a handful of gems, I’d strike it rich real speedy!

 I’d then whizz over to Kangaroo Island to check out nature’s beauty,

Like Remarkable Rocks, Admiral Arch on a sightseeing tour of duty.

I’d then have to book my car ferry ticket,

 To be back in time at the Adelaide Oval to watch some day/night cricket.

I’d then be begging Europcar Australia to stay for a much longer time,

To see other places like the Eyre, Yorke and the Fleurieu Peninsulas, and Coasts that are Lime.

Plus the Murray River, Clare Valley and loads of National Parks too,

Because I know that I will bite off more of South Australia than I can chew!

So then, in summary, my ideal South Australian trip,

Would involve beer, wine, sharks and all things hip.

That means January 2015 is definitely circled on my wall chart,

Because that’s when Europcar Australia shouts a trip for The Travel Tart!

There you go – a sure fire winner… ;P
