Storage Lockers – With This Bizarre Message!

Today, I’ve got a WTF is that Travel Photo that I spotted on a G Adventures trip to Japan. It’s of a sign I spotted above a large collection of Storage Lockers at a busy Tokyo train station when I was waking around and checking out the worlds biggest city down town.

Anyway, I was lugging around my backpack waiting for the train to Narita airport to fly back home to Australia, and I decided to stay still for a while and just people watch for a bit. When I did, I noticed there were some conditions in English and Japanese outlining how these lockers should be used when my eyes wandered over to them.

Check out the ‘Conditions of Contract’ that are required to be obeyed if you use one of the Storage Lockers at Tokyo Station, under ‘Articles Unsuitable for Storage!’. This is totally crazy!

That’s right, you’re not allowed to store dead bodies in the lockers! What the hell?

The Storage Locker Sign Reason?

Now, the reason for this sign might be the same as the ‘No Mountain Biking Down the Bobsled Track’ in Canada. That is, someone has already tried to stuff a dead body into one of these lockers! But Tokyo station is one of the busiest train stations in one of the busiest cities in the world, so it does make one wonder how the hell someone would actually manage to do this! I mean, can you imagine trying to lug a body bag around busy metropolitan area and not be noticed?

However, the Storage Lockers are barely big enough to store a standard backpack, so the corpse had better be a gymnast to fit in, or otherwise, it’s a piece by piece job! Now that is gruesome!
