It’s probably not a wise idea to go on a Great Barrier Reef scenic flight the morning after a big night out at the Fish D’vine Rum Bar because you might bring up the entire contents of your stomach within the small confines of a small propeller aeroplane!
That wouldn’t be much fun for anyone. I’m sure this stuff should be brought up (pardon the pun!) in the pre flight safety demonstrations!
However, that’s exactly what can happen (and unfortunately, has happened) when unwise punters decide to chance their luck by foolishly boarding a light aircraft to go on a scenic flight over one of the natural wonders of the world after having a big night out on the booze the night before.
You’ll find out more in a minute when I chat to Dan from GSL Aviation.
But seriously, you wouldn’t want to have your own vomit obscuring the view of this:
Or this, which is Hayman Island which is part of the Whitsunday Group off the coast from Airlie Beach in Queensland.
Note, you might need to be somewhat of a gazillionaire to stay there.
And you wouldn’t want to spoil your view of one of the world’s most spectacular beaches – Whitehaven Beach.

But as they say, there is always one!
I had an interesting chat with Dan and he gives some interesting insights about some of the passengers that go on their scenic flights.

Seriously, people don’t get sick that often. And no one was sick on my flight!
Whilst I’ve seen the Great Barrier Reef before many times on the water, it’s a difference experience from the air and it’s worth checking out just to have another perspective of the seascape.
Looks terrible, doesn’t it?
Anyway, check out more at The Great Barrier Reef: A Journey Through the World’s Greatest Natural Wonder.
Simply stunning. When I’m done travelling the world I’m going to travel Australia a lot more 🙂 My home country is so beautiful!
Always good to see what home is all about!
So, so beautiful. I loved my visit to the GBR! Beautiful!
I used to take it for granted – not anymore!
