Like fresh fish? I know where you can score some, really fresh!
I’m the first to admit that I probably don’t have enough fish in my diet. It’s not that I don’t like it. My favourite fish is Coral Trout, which is a tasty morsel when it’s cooked correctly. It can be somewhat expensive, and it can be hard to track down seafood that is sourced from sustainable sources too sometimes.
The diet boffins around the world recommend we eat oily fish like tuna and salmon regularly to ingest those all-important Omega 3 fats which help your brain function just that little bit better. I’m not a huge fan of either, except for fresh tuna steaks or sashimi that I’ve literally caught myself. I’m trying to eat more so I can live as healthily as Japanese people, but I’m thinking of buying it fresh. So fresh in fact, it goes straight from the ocean to the oven.
Anyway, my mate who lives on an idyllic, sun-drenched island in the Philippines regularly buys his tuna fresh. But it’s sometimes not from a designated fish market, or necessarily a fishmonger.
When he wants to buy some fresh tuna, all he has to do is hail down the nearest form of fish transport (or maybe tuna transport) – the tuna scooter!
Fish Transport With a Difference – Funny Tuna Photos!
Love it! Especially the ‘matter of fact’ way this guy is going about his day.
Look, I’m not surprised about this photo, as scooters are pretty much the only way to move people – and anything else – around in South East Asia, a.k.a my photo essay on Vietnamese scooter pics. I genuinely admire these people who I call ‘Masters of Transport and Logistics’.
I would say that the size of this fresh tuna would be perfect for the Monty Python ‘Fish Slapping Dance’!
