Improvisation! I love it how it’s done in places around the world! An today’s is about How To Keep Cool with some improvised Air Conditioning Units!
And it’s not what you think!
What I mean is that in some places, there may not be many resources around, so you find whatever you can lay your hands on to get the job done. And I usually mean, anything!
Some previous examples of this include:
- Shoes made from car tyres from Tanzania
- The Car Tyre Dining Set
- Bamboo Motorcycle Cover, and
- The Truck Hammock!
And today’s silly post continues in that vein with an ingenious piece of air conditioning unit engineering with left me very impressed!
Anyway, I receive this great photo from one of my mates. He’s been living in the Philippines for a while and his quirky stuff just keeps this silly travel blog going.
So just in his day to day getting around, he spotted the..
Van Air conditioning Unit!
Yes, that’s one of the box type units that are normally installed in the side of your house, and it’s been adapted for the side of a van! And the van owner has managed to find some sort of power source to keep it running!
Gold!
I really can’t blame the van owner though for resorting to this. The Philippines can be really hot and humid and times and cruising around in a van that has no aircon would feel like you’ve been banished to hell! Just try being transported around in a Philippines Tricycle or a Jeepney!
Who knows what the reason or motivation was to have this unit installed, but it must work!
But I love the irony of the sticker that’s placed immediately next to the air conditioning unit….
Only In The Philippines!
Love it!
But that’s just what you do if you need to make ends meet with whatever you have!
Personally, I think it’s brilliant.
Clever Anthony; especially finding the power source. I love it.
You gotta do what you need to do!
Hahaha. We’ve been to the Philippines a few times but this is the first time I saw this kind of creativity. Loved it! I would want to ride this when it’s too hot out in the sun.
Me too!
