Vuvuzelas = Noise Pollution!
It looks like Vuvuzelas are the latest fad to make the English Dictionary.
These are the long, plastic trumpet like devices that Football Fans are bringing into the pool matches at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Anyway, with all of the Vuvuzelas being blown throughout the entirety of the match, it sounds like there are a swarm of locusts inside the stadium buzzing around. There were calls to have the Vuvuzela band because it was annoying the billions of viewers watching the World Cup, but I’m glad they’re still allowed.
In fact, someone has even launched an application that removes the Vuvuzela sound!
Actually, I don’t mind them – but they would probably cause industrial deafness if you’re in the crowd. But I think they should stay: it’s part of the African landscape. It’s not as if they’re going to ban drums and singing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
In fact, Vuvuzelas are being manufactured into the colours of every competing nation. You even buy them on Amazon!
But check out this Funny Instruction Manual someone emailed to me about the Vuvuzela. Basically, all you need to do is blow into one of these plastic trumpets to make a loud noise.
There’s no skill needed, like having super strong lungs and musical talent, which you need to play a real trumpet.
I had a good chuckle at the irony of this!

So there you go – if you have a Vuvuzela, blow away.

Haa haa Cool
I think I prefer the drums and singing in Brazil, though 🙁
Amazom may make a lot of money selling these things, but I think that they would make even more if they had a Vuvuzela sound filter for TVs on offer 🙂
Thanks for a good laugh!! Particularly liked “Playing of the national anthem” – there is actually a local “band” that plays at the beginning of the fan mile and tries to convince tourists that Vuvuzela’s can actually be used to create music! And unfortunately the national anthem features heavily in their repertoire….
nice info…!!
