Check this out! It’s Street Art Photo time!
One of my mates went to Penang in Malaysia and he captured a tonne of cool snaps which I decided to pirate for myself!
He’s sent me some rather funny and politically incorrect stuff to me previously, such as the Cornflake coated fish, the ‘Must Be At Least Tall To Ride’ T-Shirt, and the Best Wi-fi Password ever!
No, I’m not stealing his images. He actually said I could use anything I wanted to string out the content on my silly website until the next time I travel.
Anyway, this is a photo essay of some amazing Penang Street Art which is actually awesome.
Penang is well known for the loads of wall murals scattered all around the buildings in the city. And they’re all really good!
Makes Banksy look like an amateur!
Let’s check it out!
Penang Street Art – Photo Essay!
The following pieces are brilliant – where you have a piece of artwork superimposed on a real life object, like these kids riding a bike.
Or where you can park your motorbike!
Maybe check out where the kids play.
Or see where food is being served from a street cart.
Or maybe shoot a few hoops!
You can also superimpose yourself into the wall mural, like so!
Or do your best tacky tourist photo impression that’s not the Leaning Tower of Pisa!
Not sure if there are any actual chickens in “Chicken Alley”, but there is definitely one really big cockerel! 🙂
There’s even a tribute to Bruce Lee! These Penang Street Art pieces are great. I’m keen to go over to Malaysia and check them out myself (hint hint, Tourism Malaysia!)
Thanks Glen for sending this through and keeping this website alive!
I love these images Anthony. Especially that hoops shot; fab way to create an illusion. A rim in 3D and that cool street art in fewer dimensions. Fabulous. Loved walking around Penang for hours, soaking up the brilliance of these street artists. The island in general is a funky place overall, right?

Haven’t been there yet but my friend’s photos make me want to!
