I was digging around on my computer the other day when I came across some old pics of when I did some Mountain Biking down ‘the World’s most dangerous road’, which is the La Paz to Coroico road in Bolivia. This was one of the best things I’ve done travelling, even though I was mentally exhausted by making sure I didn’t fall off the edge.
I wrote about this previously on my article about ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Road‘, but here are a few more pics to wind down the clock before you leave work for the day!
Some of them are pretty spectacular and give you an indication of the scale of the area, as well as some of the vehicles that used to traverse the road. Even though this ‘highway’ was meant to be two lanes, there are some areas along the road where it’s only wide enough to let one truck pass!
Anyway here you go!
Death Road Mountain Biking Photos!
I’ll say this again, mountain biking down this road was right up there with one of the best experiences of my life. I was so pumped, I could barely sleep that night, and I wanted to do the ride again! And I didn’t use too many Spanish Curse Words or much Australian Slang!
Just know your own limits, and you will be just fine! Respect your bike and the road, and you should come away alive!

It was a fantastic experience – I’ll never forget it!
Very nearly died doing this ride. Caught it on film. Check out my video: https://double-barrelledtravel.com/biking-death-road-bolivia/
