Here is one for the Bogan files – it’s some Funny Food labelled as a Bogan Burger!

As I’ve explained previously, a Bogan is an Australian term – an ‘individual who is recognised to be from an unsophisticated background or someone whose limited education, speech, clothing, attitude and behaviour exemplifies a lack of manners and education’.

You’ll often come across them when you are living or working in Australia and sometimes abroad boozing up with other Bogans (or One Star People).

And it looks like cafes are cashing in on the Bogan Craze, with the Bogan Burger!

Funny Food Time!

Funny Food - Bogan Burger

However, this is some good marketing to make you buy the burger because of the funny food name. But really, Turkish toast (which I assume is Turkish bread that’s been placed in a toaster..) sounds way too sophisticated and fancy for a Bogan! And I can hear a Bogan potentially saying ‘what the *&%* is paprika aioli?’

Some potential staple dishes might include loading up the car with high fat, high calorie processed muck from the numerous multinational take away joints available on offer, to something opened from a can and grilled between two pieces of bread.

Regardless, this food normally has a very high meat content (or might be purely meat!) where the meat cannot be readily identified sometimes!

This was spotted at the Hansel and Gretel Breakfast Bar in Brisbane. I don’t think they were actually targeting bogans as their potential market for the Bogan Burger – but people like laughing at them.

You know, people who might say “I’m not a bogan, but I know people who are…” 😉

Anyway, there you go. What funny food names have you come across, or even better, have you invented any yourself? Feel free to leave a suggestion in the comments box below!
