Burning Man Festival – Out There Pics from the Black Rock Desert!
The Burning Man Festival is held in the Black Rock Desert in Northern Nevada every year, around the time of the United States Labor Day Holiday.
The main reason for the name is that a ritual is undertaken where a large wooden effigy of a man is set alight, providing a rather large source of marshmallow roasting heat.
Pretty much anything goes at the Burning Man Festival, which is described as a radical form of self expression.
Thousands of people attend each year, and now it’s a major international event.
Check out some of the characters that get dressed up for the Burning Man Festival (thanks to Katie from Tripbase for providing the photos).
They look a bit odd, but I’m interested in checking out the Burning Man Festival at the same time because of them!

Wow, looks like a good place to meet some interesting people!

Not the first time I see pictures of Burning Man, but it keeps amazing me. I think that for many participants, this must be THE event of the year. Making them work most of the year too, looking at the constructions that some groups put up.
I thinkt that, at least once in my life, I’ll go over there.

Wow, good pictures. I can see why they it is said that describing Burning Man is hard. It really does take pictures to tell what goes on there. Even then, I feel like I don’t get to really know what goes on there. It is probably just something I have to see. One day…hopefully soon.
I agree Steve! Looks interesting!
